Company Profile 簡介   

Grand Eye Scientific Company (G.E.S.C.) was established in 1995. Under an occasional opportunity, a Taiwan amateur Chuang Yung-Sheng place an order, on the Takahashi NJP equatorial mount. After the very first order, my telescope business started unexpectedly and this was just my side business. At that time, the order was unstable, until the company co-operated with Meade Instruments Corporation, the world's largest telescope manufacturer. In 1996, the very first batch of ETX telescope was shipped and G.E.S.C. formally registered as company and started her operation in Hong Kong.

I was not working as full time until 1998, after the global economic recession, many people were being lay off and I was one of the unlucky. During those days, thanks to the influx of computerized telescope, the sales volume grew dramatically. High versatility of telescope, large selection of accessories and my concentration in the business,  all these factors enable G.E.S.C. became one of the main supplier of astronomical equipment in H.K.

G.E.S.C. is a wholesaler, distributor and retailer in telescope business. Our customers are widely spread through Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, North America and South America.. Once again, I would like to thank you for all individuals and institutions who have contributed their effort in our growth.

         巨眼天文儀器社 於1995 年成立。在一個偶然的機會下，

         代台灣同好莊永勝訂購高橋 NJP 赤道儀，在首批貨件付運後，我的兼職望遠鏡事業就這樣展開了。當時的訂單不算很

         穩定, 直至與全球最大望遠鏡 

生產商 Meade 合作，1996 年 ETX 望遠鏡首批付運，巨眼天文儀器社便正式成立，開始服務香港天文同好。

1998 年，由於經濟不景，我亦加入失業大軍，唯有全身投入事業。那時候，電腦控制望遠鏡，深受用家歡

迎，令營業額大增。用途廣泛的望遠鏡及多種配件供選擇，而我投入工作等各種因素，促使巨眼很快成為

本地主要天文儀器供應商，預測 2006 年營業額持續有穩定增長。

巨眼主要從事望遠鏡批發及零售業務，客戶遍佈亞洲、澳洲、歐洲、非洲及南北美洲。在此，我謹向過去支持我們的

各位客戶致萬二分謝意。

*巨眼的由來：

其靈感來自80年代在香港曾經舉行過的「巨眼探穹蒼」觀星營 。顧名思義，用巨大的眼睛窺探宇宙，巨大的眼睛當然

是指巨型天文望遠鏡。近代業餘天文愛好者使用的望遠鏡動軋約十多二十吋，雖然不能跟天文台內的十米級巨炮相提

並論，但比對從前的兩、三吋折射望遠鏡已經有很大的分別了。
